This Kingart 100 series sketching and drawing set of 75 pencils is very nice for color drawing. The pencils take a good point and make consistent marks. The relative firmness of the lead makes it difficult to draw on previously drawn marks.
This set is really beautifully crafted. It's well made and will last for a long time. I've never seen such a nice way to display, organize, and store my art supplies. It has an impressive range of products that will suit anyone from beginners to experienced artists. The products themselves are good quality and provide a good experience. The colors are nice and bright with good pigment.
At this price point, this makes a nice gift for the creative person in your life.
This is a gorgeous drawing set. The leather storage cast is sturdy and looks great. The sliding drawers are really handy. I would have loved this set as a teen. At the current price of $45, it's a really decent price for everything included. There is quite a large variety here: graphite, charcoal, ink, color pencils, pastel pencils and sticks, eraser and blending, and a sharpener. The quality isn't the greatest - some of the pencils break easily. But it's a great starter kit for a young student or an adult who is new to art.
My teenage daughter loves art sets and I tend to like the value of not individually buying each item but the quality is not always the best. As for this set I really loved the three drawer holder the pencils came in, it is much more user friendly then the briefcase style. The pencils themselves are medium quality, good color pay off but not as strong as her more high end stuff. Overall I think it is a bit over priced but the pencils are all a decent quality and the drawer storage is useful and a highlight to this set.
We got both the King art 100 and 121 and you'd think the 100 would have less in it than the 121 (it actually has more), and although this has 75 pieces and the 121 has 74 (confused yet?!). King Art's 100 comes in a 3 tier tray leather kit. The top drawer has colored pencils, there is a nice range of colors. The next drawer has pastel sticks (several broke in transit) as well as blending sticks, an eraser, a sharpener, and watercolor pencils. The bottom has pastelle pencils, charcoal pencils, a fine point marker and graphite pencils. It's a nice set and the packaging is nice, but the value really isn't there. I'm not sure why this is so much more expensive than the 121 (which is more pastel stick focused)
