KINGART® Original Gold® 9000 Series, Golden Taklon Round

Our Original Gold® round brushes are great for creating thick to thin lines, points, scrolls, signatures, and more. These resilient brushes easily snap back to their original shape.

Use on point or apply pressure to make thick-to-thin strokes.  Detail work or filling large areas depending upon the size of the brush head and pressure applied.

Use round brushes for thick to thin strokes made by variation of pressure. Ideal for detail work or filling large areas, depending on the brush size used and pressure applied. Shaping of the point coming from the center most hairs makes it ideally suited for stroke work.

Series 9000 round is available in 15+ sizes from 18/0 to 20.

KINGART® Original Gold® series synthetic brushes are made from the finest-quality Golden Taklon filaments to create brush heads that are remarkably durable, easy to care for and versatile (they work equally well with watercolor, acrylic, and oil paint).

Each brush is expertly crafted to mimic the virtues of natural hair, including exceptional paint-holding capacity, at a reduced cost.

Each brush holds its shape well and consists of filaments that are dyed and baked to increase softness and absorption.

The filaments of each brush are bound together with nickel-plated brass ferrules and crimped at the bottom to ensure an extra-secure bond to the handle.

Each handle is ergonomically crafted to reduce muscle fatigue and are carefully balanced to provide maximum control.

KINGART® premium brushes are designed with the artist in mind and are manufactured to survive years of steady use.

I think I found my new favorite line of brushes!

I haven't done any artwork for quite a while, and I pulled out my brushes and decided it was time to get a few new ones. I have been trying some lines hoping to find some that suit me. I do believe I found them.

This synthetic has a full belly which holds plenty of water and pigment, yet comes to a sharp point and has good "spring". I love it!

    I plan to buy more.

    Solid mid-range round brush

This #5 round Taklon brush from KingArt is not bad for a mid-range brush. It's a step better than those found at the large chain craft stores as it is well made with double crimped ferrules with tightly set fibers and seems durable.

The fibers have good snap and the point holds its shape well, despite some minor unevenness at the lower end of the point on one side. However, for round brushes I prefer Escoda, even though they are about triple the price, even for synthetic like Barroco or Perla (largest white one in my photo). The Escoda rounds have a longer, sharper, more precise point that I love for high detail.

Taklon is great for acrylic as the synthetic nature can hold up to the chemical harshness of acrylic. Taklon is also soft enough for watercolor too, but for my use, too soft for oil. If you like to lay your acrylic on, this might be too soft for that too. For watercolor, I do prefer Kolinsky sable as it holds more fluid and flows more organically.

I like this for a solid, budget option in my kit, but it doesn't come without some sacrifice on performance.

This is the brush you want for those precise strokes that require delicate careful neat lines or dots. I am by no means an Artist but I have been playing around with painting for a few months now and even though I am a novice even I know that this brush is a precision tool. 4 stars!

Definately my preferred type of brush to work in these media

My daughter used this brush and had this to say about it. “The KINGART brush came packaged nicely with a cover to protect the bristles. They are nice and springy and come to a nice point. I tried it with both ink and watercolors and it performed well with both. Fine tipped enough for some line work and broad enough for washes and broad color applications with nice control. Definitely my preferred type of brush to work with in these media.” Since my daughter is the artist in the family, I would trust her evaluation much better than my own.

Just finished a 5 week painting class and this brush was excellent!

I haven't used this brush with acrylics yet but I just finished a 5 week class in oil painting and this brush was excellent with oil paints. The bristles are of high quality and the handle is comfortable to hold. I'm very happy with it!
